Mission Lumen FAQ Page
We are a 501C-3 nonprofit organization that makes videogames for students. Getting kids excited about reading is our space jam, and we are pretty good at it- if we do say so ourselves!
Our goal is to help end the illiteracy epidemic in America through video game learning. We make education fun through positive reinforcement and virtual rewards systems. Reading should be fun and enjoyable, not frustrating!
We don’t. This organization was founded by four college students who were broke anyways, so we don’t mind not making money. On a more realistic note, we are 75% donor funded and 25% crowdfunded. 95% of the donations to this organization go straight into paying our programmers and keeping the games free, the other 5% pays our salaries.
No Sweat! We have a self-service portal where you can have a reset link sent directly to your email. Click Here to enter the self-service portal.
Our video games are free for students! So, blast off and get started today!
Save your credits space cadet, we are proud to say we are anti-microtransactions here at Mission Lumen.
Short answer? Yes. We have a team of full-time moderators to help keep our corner of cyber space a place where players can learn and have fun. These mods are not security enforcers; they are acting more as lifeguards. By promoting an environment built on teamwork, we hope to dissuade the trolls from trolling.
First to change your username you need to go into Settings>Profile>Username Change. Then we will review if your username is appropriate and we will change it!
Yes, please do! We offer backend analytics features and tools for educators, allowing you to see where your students are getting stuck so that you can help address the problems in person. Our goal is to work with educators, not against them. We also offer a handy upload feature where you as an educator can add your content to your school’s server to supplement your lessons.
Nope. Learning content is fully customizable in user settings. There are sliders to increase the learning challenge (and in game rewards) or ease up to reinforce the core learning objectives.
WE DON’T SELL YOUR INFORMATION. That’s just mean.
You can either visit our Careers Page to find a job (that doesn’t pay a ton BTW) or you can visit our Pledge Page to help fund the fight against illiteracy!
